Sarah Vanhee

(Brussel)

Mémé

Sarah Vanhee brings her West-Flemish grandmothers back to life with the help of puppets, ghosts and a child. Like other women of their time, they spent most of their lives in ‘labour’: birthing and raising children and working in the home and in the fields, always in service of others. Mémé is an ode to all invisible women, the earth, life itself, work and pleasure.
